Bio: Long comes to Talladega College & EAFC from Western Texas College, where he started both the men and womens soccer programs, leading them to 4 consecutive winning seasons along with being nationally ranked with both teams consistently. Son of missionary parents, Long grew up in the streets of Brazil playing soccer and learning about people and their customs. Together with his college coaching, Long has worked with all ages developing club programs, ODP, select teams and semi-professional teams.
With over 20 years in the education arena, Long has experience as a professor of business and physical education along with starting several college soccer programs from the ground up. Teaching and coaching at such schools like University of West Florida, Belhaven University, Western Texas College, Mount Marty College and Southwestern Oregon Community College has allowed Long the opportunity to deal with a wide range of students from various backgrounds.
In the business world Long has started his own company Strategic Solutions Inc which focused on joint venture opportunities in Latin America. He also was in charge of business development for Latin America in the telecom field .
Long earned a bachelor's in biblical studies from Wheaton College before earning a master's in intercultural studies from Reformed Theological Seminary and a master's in physical education from Mississippi College. He is fluent in Portuguese, his native language
